Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly offloaded DeAndre Yedlin as his deal with English Championship side Newcastle is done.

Yedlin has been linked with a move to Newcastle for a while now, but the deal is completed based on reports. Yedlin was even pictured as he arrived at Newcastle airport.

The United States international dropped in the pecking order at Tottenham, as he fell behind Danny Rose and Kyle Walker. The 23-year old would have to prove his worth with the Magpies to earn a spot back in top flight English football. He spent last season on loan at Sunderland, but upon returning to White Hart Lane, he was pushed out. ESPN FC says the deal is worth about $6.6 million. He is set to go under the tutelage of former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Chelsea coach, Rafa Benitez.

On the other hand, Bild say that Spurs could sign Bayer Leverkusen forward Hakan Calhanoglu in a deal worth £21 million. Calhanoglu was in impressive form for the German side last season, after his 2014 move from Hamburg. He was instrumental to Leverkusen’s third place finish, contributing eight goals and ten assists. There have been a lot of interests in the player – Premier League sides, Bundesliga and other countries in Europe. The report claimed Spurs are in talks as Coach Mauricio Pochettino admires him.

Pochettino added forward Vincent Janssen and midfielder Victor Wanyama this break but wants Calhanoglu before the transfer window closes in a days. Express Sport say the deal would cost the North London club at least £21 million to go through. Spurs could easily raise this money with the sale of Heung-Min Son. The 24-year old Korea international joined from German side Bayer Leverkusen last summer. Son played in 40 games but mainly as a substitute. After his impressive run for South Korea at the just concluded Rio 2016 Olympics, Wolfsburg want to take the player back to the Bundesliga.
