The Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has hailed the managerial careers of the former Barcelona manager Guardiola and the Real Madrid manager José Mourinho.

These two people have had a lot of influence on his career according to Andre Villas-Boas. The Portuguese has been trying to adopt a style that is similar to the one used by Guardiola at the Camp Nou. Even though he did not have the greatest successes at Chelsea, Villas-Boas has been able to work on a different level at Tottenham. He has been able to get the club once again back into the top four positions this season.

Villas-Boas made his name as a scout working under the former Chelsea manager José Mourinho while the Portuguese was at Stamford Bridge. He has won an unprecedented 20 titles with four different clubs over the last 10 seasons. Guardiola, meanwhile, has managed to lift 14 trophies with Barcelona during his four seasons at the club. Villas-Boas has praised Guardiola by saying that he was revolutionary in his ideas, which has left a huge mark on him. Villas-Boas has also praised his time when he worked under Mourinho by saying that it helped him learn a lot.

Villas-Boas was known for his impressive scouting reports.
"Guardiola set the standard. People respect the style of play, football philosophy and values he created. Barcelona play fast football that can be slow at the same time. The players always make the right decisions when on the ball. Working with Mourinho was the best learning experience, it helped me a lot. We didn't get the chance when things were still possible. It was not right," said the Tottenham manager. He recently replaced Harry Redknapp at White Hart Lane, and has already made a positive impact at the club. He has been able to continue the good work left by Redknapp.
